This Permanent Audax ride starts and finishes in the Crossgates / Halbeath area of Fife and follows the route of the very successful National 400 event in the year 2000 (see map above). Apply to the organiser and obtain your brevet card well in advance of your ride. Plan the ride well as you will be relying on shops, garages etc. to get your brevet "stamped" as proof of the ride (there are no set controls). The section between Stonehaven and Blairgowrie is very sparsely populated and finding anything open during the night is nigh on impossible!! This section is also very remote and goes through very wild and mountainous countryside so go well prepared for bad weather, mechanical problems etc.
Once planned just ride it when you want and on completion return your card to the organiser for validation and thats about it.
